Oedipus is the front man, the king-healer, the shaman-king. He lives in a forgotten repository of words, memories and fetish objects that have collided with "small-private-perverse" rock imagery. The show unfolds among continuous textual references; on one hand we find fragments of the ancient tragic tradition, on the other a handful of rock songs that have left a mark on this highly unusual oedipal journey...

The Italian Program at CSI presents In Scena! Italian Theater Festival NY: Ten - Dieci Directed by Laura Caparrotti. From the homonymous book published in Italy by Adeplhi (winner of Premio Bagutta, Premio Vittorini, Premio Chiara and finalists at the Premio Bancarella) and in the US by Penguin Books in a translation by Howard Curtis.

The show has won the following awards in Italy: Calandra 2014 (best show, best director, best actress), Special mention Festival Storie di Lavoro 2015 Ten characters tell their stories in ten different monologues. Uncovering the raw heart of the city of Naples, this collection tells the stories of ordinary people forced to make extraordinary compromises in a place permeated by crime. They’re ten like the Ten Commandments. Indeed each monologue is titled after each Commandment.
